Very Rare: Two Unreleased Mixtapes From Chance The Rapper Surface

Chance The Rapper is definitely 2013′s ‘It Boy’ in the music industry. The 20 year-old Chicago rapper is landing at the top of just about everybody’s “Best Music Of 2013″ lists (including ours), and SPIN just named him the “Rapper Of The Year.” His praise is well-deserved, too: Acid Rap is easily the best mixtape of 2013 and Chance has done an excellent job reacting to the overwhelming response to the mixtape and has used the platform to tour across the world this year and build his fan base even more.

Fans of Chance The Rapper have had to deal with the inevitable burden of discovering an artist so early in their career: his complete discography thus far only consists of two official mixtapes (10 Day and the aforementioned Acid Rap) and with no official announcements about future music, loyal fans of Chancelor have had to keep these two tapes on heavy rotation to get their fix. Alas, we’ve got some great news for diehard Chance The Rapper fans: a Redditor over at /r/hiphopheads found two previously unreleased mixtapes from the Acid Rapper, and they both provide a very rare glimpse into Chance’s earliest work as a rapper. The mixtapes are titled Good Enough and Back To School Pack, and considering how early they were recorded in Chance’s rap career, they sound great.

Stream and download Chance The Rapper’s unreleased mixtapes Good Enough and Back To School Pack below:

This is awesome! It’s very rare to find unreleased mixtapes from an artist like Chance The Rapper, who has seen a meteoric rise in fame this year. What’s even more special is the fact that Good Enough and Back To School Pack are both respectable projects for someone at the very start of their rap career. Most artists try to bury their very earliest material, which I can understand if it’s because the material is, frankly, embarrassingly awful or something… but these two projects are nice. At the very least it gives diehard Chance The Rapper fans (like myself) some new material to hold us over until he releases his next project, which will hopefully be sometime in 2014.

Shout to Redditor Lavmar over at /r/hiphopheads of uncovering these gems.
