UPDATE: CDQ version of Pusha T - Snitch added

Pusha T has been giving fans a taste of what his highly anticipated debut solo album My Name Is My Name will sound like when it hits stores on October 8th, and now Highbrow Hip Hop has an EXCLUSIVE track off the album that has yet to be heard by anyone (but us!). We were lucky enough to have an intimate sit-down with Pusha T yesterday, and on top of talking about his career and giving details on My Name Is My Name, King Push debuted two new songs that will live on the project. This track that we’re exclusively premiering is titled Snitch, and it’s produced by none other than Pusha’s longtime friend Pharrell. Pharrell also adds a DOPE hook, singing about one of Pusha T’s close childhood friends who called him and told him that, unfortunately, he was planning on snitching. Pharrell sings “Sorry Nigga, I‘m Tryna Come Home” on the hook, making for a very creative acronym for “SNITCH.” Stream and download Pusha T - Snitch with Pharrell below:

Before Pusha played this song for us, he gave some background information on how one of his closest friends from his childhood called him up one day and essentially told he that he had to cut him out of his life for good. Pusha pressed on as to why he was cutting him out of his life, and long story short, his friend snitched in order to cut his jail time down. Pusha said he and Pharrell had the beat to this song for a long time, and finally Pharrell called him up one day after an epiphany and told him that he had the hook for the song: Sorry Nigga, I’m Tryna Come Home. The hook is DOPE, as is the rest of the song. Pusha T told us that this is the most personal song on My Name Is My Name, and it’s definitely one of the realest songs I’ve heard in a while.

I’ll update with the CDQ of Snitch as soon as it comes out, but for now enjoy the first listen at Highbrow Hip Hop’s exclusive premiere of Pusha T’s Snitch!
